Compositions
6105 – Composition 6105 is our High Grade alumina composition. This material contains some Zirconia designed to provide longer life and superior resistance to erosion and spalling than the standard high grade alumina crucibles. Composition 6105 works best with medium to mildly aggressive alloys. For shorter run applications you will find 6105 to be an excellent choice.

For Even Longer Crucible Life
Zirconium Oxide (ZrO2, A Grain Zirconia) is one of the best commercially available insulating materials. It has approximately 5 times the insulating value of alumina or magnesia. Using 1859 or 3001 Crucible Backup will extend crucible life and result in cleaner melts (www.zircoa.com/grog).
